Binder was a German master chain-maker from Mönsheim, near Pforzheim, who founded Friedrich Binder Mönsheim (FBM) in 1910. He had trained as a chain-maker in Pforzheim and established a workshop specialising in jewellery chains. The business developed into one of Germany’s major chain manufacturers and is still family-run today.
